Cedar Mill Cider Festival – Say It Three Times Fast!

Come out and celebrate the delicious tastes of autumn at the Sixth Annual Cedar Mill Cider Festival.  Local Boy Scouts from troop 208 will demonstrating how the pioneers made cider with antique, hand cranked presses.  The 1,000 pounds of apples that will be used for the festival were generously donated by Dinihanians Farm Market allowing for free samples to all who attend. Cedar Mill Cider Festival will be held on Sunday, October 14 from 1-4 pm on the grounds of the John Quincy Adams Young House on Cornell Road just east of 119th, and in the adjacent parking lot of the Cedar Mill Bible Church.

In addition to tasting the delicious cider, bring your appetite because you will want to try one of the award-winning sandwiches provided by Burnt Ends BBQ and fresh apple crisp from Leedy Grange complete with vanilla ice cream! Seating will be plentiful for you to sit back and relax amongst your friends and Cedar Mill neighbors while you listen to the folk and bluegrass music of The Lauren Sheehan String Band.

If that’s not enough the Cedar Mill Cider Festival will be hosting local vendors offering local craves such as SweetRock Farms’ homemade bread, MeeMee’s jam, Laura Roberts aprons, and table décor from Fabric of Provence, and home-made candy from RhoJo’s creations. Dinihanian's Farm Market will also be on hand selling the freshly churned apple cider to take home, and just in time for Halloween, they have will have many pumpkins to adopt! The kiddos will flock to the spreading hickory tree for games and activities provided by The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District’s Rec Mobile.

For those who are looking to learn a bit about the grounds and the historic house built in 1869, be sure to visit The History Tent. Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District who owns the house and grounds is the main sponsor of the event with a portion of the food and craft proceeds going to the restoration fund.  Donations are also welcomed by the Tualatin Hills foundation and the JQA Young House.  Looking forward to seeing our Cedar Mill neighbors at the Cider Festival!
