New Park Linking Trillium Hollow to Arbor Vista

A new children's park in Cedar Mill will soon occupy the green space behind the new Arbor Vista, where Shadywood and Arborview meet. A fellow neighbor who spoke with a surveyor that was working behind their home discovered that there is a plan in place to create a North to South trail with a bridge connecting Trillium Hollow to the new development of Arbor Vista homes. Evidently, there were notices sent to the neighboring communities which we were unaware of, however the nearby property was always intended to link up to with Forest Heights.

Funds have already been allocated, and the county has given the go-ahead for construction to begin early next year. The addition will include removal of non-native species of foliage, such as blackberries and holly trees.

We will continue to post updates on the project as received. Any feedback or information related to the park is greatly appreciated.

Mark Your Calendars for the 2012 Cedar Mill Family Carnival!

On Friday, June 8, from 6:00 -8:00 PM, Cedar Mill Elementary School will be hosting their Annual Family Carnival! This year's event will include a bounce house, BIG slide, face painting, ice cream and the BIG splash - should be a blast! Volunteers are needed, so please contact Emily West at volunteercoordinator@cedarmillptc.org if you are interested.

Tickets for this year’s raffle baskets will be available upon entry and will be raffled during the carnival.  This year’s baskets include Summer Fun at Mt. Hood, Theater & Arts, Spa Day, Iron Chef and many more! Ticket pricing runs from $5.00 per ticket to $100.00 for 30 tickets. Now is a great time to get your tickets ready for any one of the fabulous baskets that will be offered. Please make checks payable to Cedar Mill Elementary PTC and remember ALL money collected goes directly back to the school.

Congratulations to Cedar Mill Students, who raised over $1,900 in a penny drive, by collecting donations over the course of just one week! The money will go to support leukemia/lymphoma research. Very impressive for a school with a population of less than 270 students. Great job kids!!!
