Sunset High School Hosts Curriculum Night This Thursday

Students who will be attending Sunset High School next school year are encouraged to attend Curriculum night hosted by Sunset High School this Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Information covered will include opportunities to learn about the overall academic program, advanced programs and International Baccalaureate, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science programs, and post high school planning.

All incoming students will receive forecasting forms and the Guide to Academic Program Planning in the next few weeks.  The Guide contains information regarding all of Sunset's course offerings in grades nine through twelve.  It also suggests courses of study, outlines graduation requirements, and lists available activities and athletics.  Completed and signed forecasting forms must be returned to your child's current school during the week of Feb. 25th.

If your child is due to enter Sunset as a 9th grader next year, Sunset counselors will be visiting them at their current middle school to distribute forecasting materials and help students begin the forecasting process for next year’s classes.  The schedule goes as follows:

Stoller on Monday, February 11th
Meadow Park on Tuesday, February 12th
Cedar Park on Wednesday, February 13th

Current 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will receive forecasting materials in Advisory on Wednesday, February 13th.

Sessions will be available for all grades throughout the night, and parents are encouraged to attend any session relevant to the child. Sessions for Returning students and families will begin after 7:00 pm.  Overflow parking will be available at the Sunset pool and across Cornell Road near Shari’s.
