Great changes ahead for Cedar Mill’s Donuts Plus

It has been a fixture of Cedar Mill for almost 21 years, but with the recent sale of the building located at 13500 N.W. Cornell Rd, Donuts Plus is due to relocate to what promises to be a bigger and better space. Whether picking up treats for the office, my little league team, or just giving in to guilty temptation I have been known to be caught with a little leftover confectioners’ sugar on my beard. Fellow indulgers don’t fret! The new location for Donuts Plus will be less than a mile away at Suite 100 of Oak Hills Village, near Pizzicato and McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub.

According to Paul Kim, the son of the founders Joe and Sue Kim, leaving the Cedar Mill area was not even an option. “We wanted to stay close to our customers, who have been so loyal to us over the years”, he stated.

Regulars of Donuts Plus are in for a treat - pun intended. He referred to the need to move as a "blessing in disguise." Kim along with his parents will take this opportunity  “to look at everything with a fresh eye," including the kitchen, which will be three times the size of the old one , the configuration of the shop and the equipment they need. The menu is expected to stay mostly the same; however, they will add daily specials and other tasty enticements.

With the only negative feedback from customers being that the old space is bit stale and outdated, it seems in this case the changes ahead are all positive for Donuts Plus. No need to be held hostage by the Crispy Kremes and Safeways of the world. the new and improved Donuts Plus is expected to open before the New Year (just in time for any “healthy eating” resolutions must be enforced). Take my word for it; supporting a local business never tasted so good, and I am looking forward to continuing to get my fix as soon as they open up shop
